CATERINA CASELLI il volto della vita

.
this song is part of a tape that my family listened to for years while on summer holidays, mostly while driving .
only italian canzones, from the late fifties to the early eighties - my father spent three years of this childhood in Rome.

many years later, i rediscovered that tape while cleaning up the family house. the distinctive class of Caterina Caselli was instantly evident.
together with Dave and all the other friends involved in La Guerre Des Tuques, we covered Perdono (with german lyrics performed by a lady who didn't know what she was singing) on our last show, in the early summer of 2005. probably our best performance ever.

just compare Caselli to any of the british or french singers of the sixites. see?

recently, i tried to start a little Caselli-hype by buying a bunch of 7inches via ebay.it and trying to resell them in the most repected record store in town. guess what? the one posted was sold for 25€! the other two are still for sale, though.

more to be posted from her, i promise.

listen.
