JULIE DOIRON it's nice to come home

i thought my emotional tie to her music had loosened with the years.

but today, in the tube, listening to this very song, tears inevitably came to my eyes.

MASTERS OF THE HEMISPHERE die mustapha die

Dave, don't tell me that you hate berlin. cross the ocean, instead.

THE MICROPHONES lanterns (or: let go of everything)

listening to this, it's hard for me to connect my present life on it.

is this an irreversible step (forward)?

dear Elverum afficionado, tell me.

EXPLODE INTO COLORS eyes hands mouth

how can this be? how can such a band release three brilliant elaborate 7" within half a year, give amazing shows and then, out of nowhere, decide to break up?

too bad.

IDA when u were mine (Prince cover)

hilarious.

SUMMER CATS let's go!

what a killer track!

bought this split 7" because of the POBPAH song - but this is far better!

try to get it, this song version is way superior to the one on the album.

SIMON & GARFUNKEL mrs robinson

my childhood condensed in less than four minutes.
walks with my parents and friends through the parc de versailles, in 1987, on some foggy fall days. mostly.

hey, the copyright-sharks came by...

HOOD useless

a clarinet on a Hood song - like the taste of a bacon-plum on a rainy, rainy day.

THE MAKE-UP pow to the people

D., you flitzpiepe, i can't wait to disturb the dance floor on that tune together with you!

SUFJAN STEVENS i went dancing with my sister

even though the song is brilliant, it's mostly a welcome pretense to post this video:

[ ? . ! ? ]

listen.

BIG BLACK the model (Kraftwerk cover)

Steve Albini, the hardcore-saint.

one, two fuck you!

listen.

buy!

DAVID GRUBBS & F.S. BLUMM back to the plants (music for drawing) #3 + #1

two of F.'s heroes.

he's right, on that one.

bought in a kulturgüterrausch last week. (quite a stupid comment, considering what Mister Blumm's oeuvre is all about.)

listen.

buy!

ROSE MELBERG cupid

everybody's indie-darling since, hm, 1995.

Adrian Tomine did the artwork. oh yes.

as far as i know, the only flexi to have been released by Slumberland.

listen.

ISAN damil 85

definitely one of the best Wurlitzer releases.

listening to this, i remember one brief conversation topic last friday at Japanther's West Germany show with M. and K. i argued that having been a teenager in the mid-nineties had determined my physiognomy preferences. seriously. if i can't potentially relate someone's face to a mid-nineties mtv or viva2 vid, then we'll likely remain strangers to each other.

listen.

WILL OLDHAM patience

welcome back, dear reader.

may this journey be amusing to you.
