RONDELLES revenge

U. and i went to this infamous Rondelles-show in the (at that time only 90% gentrified) Hackescher Markt-neighboorhood, in the summer of 2001.
back then, i was shooting pics at every show i went -and on this one, everything was perfect - the light, the crowd, the venue, the band! the first and only time O. wanted me to make him prints of every single pic on one film.
guess what? i forgot my camera in the club. U. noticed it half an hour after we had left the place.
it was still there, waiting for me near the stage.

been thinking of booking them for a german tour (i wanted to raise funds by asking every interested student at the comp.lit-.department to donate 20DM as an advance for a ticket)
and
2.
met M. in the tube who told me they were playing that very night (she, sadly, couldn't do it).
the only reason she told me so was that i had played the like a prayer cover-version by The Rondelles at a recent college-party.
two years later, we became flat mates - having the best parties in town.
this summer, we're continuing this tradition. you might be there, too.

my brother once argued that bands with asian members had always a specific emotional, that is melodical aura.
positive racism? not at all.
why Kicking Giant never made it as a, say, White Stripes-matchable indie icon will always remain their secret.
besides, Tae Won Yu is the layout-genious behind many k records cover-artworks, and well beyond - Built To Spill, just to name one band, have requested many times his mastery.
