MARK EITZEL on the emblematic use of jewelry as a metaphor for the disolution of our hopes and dreams

.

F. had been insisting for years to listen to American Music Club. i was maybe too young to understand.
and then, out of nowhere (that is, of a broken heart), Mark Eitzel was there. and sung, just for me.

this is one of these singers that gender-splits the audience. women - at least among my acquaintances - seem unable to understand, calling him pathetic, wallowing in ironic self-pity, etc. etc.

who cares? a true classic.

listen.
